CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION (CSI: Forensic Science Camp) SUMMER CAMP

High School Students

ARKANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY

Summer 2009 Dates:
1 st session:  June 15 through June 19
2 nd session:  June 22  through June 26

$50.00 deposit due by May 30th

CSI: Forensic Science Camp is available to high school students.  If students are entering the 9th grade, they will need to gain permission from Dean Gibson to attend the camp. 

The camp is residential, meals provided, some spending money needed for extracurricular outings.

The CSI: Forensic Science Camp will provide “hands-on” experience at reconstructed crime scenes, and in the lab and classroom. Students will learn how to create an investigative plan and understand the connections between crime scenes, the lab, interrogation, and the courtroom. Crime scene processing, lab analysis (forensic biology and chemistry), investigative strategies, and psychological profiling will also be covered. Lecturers will be ASU faculty, law enforcement personnel, professional investigators, and laboratory scientists. Students will also utilize ASU’s libraries, labs, and advanced technology resources.

Other Activities Include:Movie night, swimming, tour of ASU’s campus, interactive games, and cookouts

Camp Fee: $350 (due June 1, 2009)

Camp Fee Covers: Instructional materials and lab fees; Room and meals for 5 days and four nights in ASU’s residence halls with around the clock adult supervision (students must bring linens, pillows and towels).
